At Lagom Control, privacy is not an afterthought; it is our foundation. Our mission is to provide you with “just the right amount” of technology without the invasive data harvesting common in the smart home industry.

1. Our “Local-First” Commitment

The hardware modules we sell are designed to operate entirely within your local network.

• No Cloud Tracking: Our modules do not “phone home” to our servers or any third-party cloud services.

• No Data Harvesting: We do not collect, store, or sell data regarding how you use your appliances, your schedules, or your home environment.

• Full Transparency: Every device is pre-flashed with ESPHome, allowing you to audit the firmware and verify that your data stays exactly where it belongs: inside your home.

2. Information We Collect (Online Store)

To operate our online shop and fulfill your orders, we collect the minimum amount of information necessary:

• Order Information: When you make a purchase, we collect your name, shipping address, and email address to process and deliver your hardware.

• Payment Processing: Payment information is handled through secure, industry-standard third-party processors. Lagom Control never sees or stores your full credit card details.

• Communication: If you contact us for technical support, we retain that correspondence to help resolve your issue.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your store data exclusively to:

• Fulfill and ship your orders.

• Provide technical support for your modules.

• Send essential updates regarding firmware or compatibility (only if you opt-in).

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information with third parties in two situations: to complete your order, and to understand how our website and our advertising perform.

• Shipping Carriers: To get your package to your door.

• Payment Gateways: To securely process your transaction.

• Google: For website analytics and to measure whether our ads lead to orders. See section 5.

5. Our Website (Analytics and Advertising)

This section is about lagomcontrol.com.au, not about your hardware. Our modules still do not phone home, and nothing here changes what happens inside your house. The commitments in section 1 stand.

Running a shop means knowing whether it works. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads for that, and here is exactly what they receive.

• Analytics: Which pages you view, which products you look at, whether you add to cart or start checkout, and the value and contents of any order you complete.

• Advertising: If you reach us by clicking one of our ads and then buy something, we send Google the order value, the currency, and an order reference number, along with a hashed version of your email address and phone number. Hashing (SHA-256) turns your details into a fixed string of characters that cannot be reversed back into an email address or phone number. Google uses it only to confirm that an order followed an ad click. We do not send your name, your shipping address, or your payment details.

• Cookies: We set a first-party cookie named lagom_attr, which lasts 90 days and records which ad or link brought you to the site. Google Analytics and Google Ads set their own cookies. None of these are required to browse or to buy, and blocking them does not affect your order.

We do not build advertising profiles about you, and we share nothing about how you use your modules, because we never collect it. You can control Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com, and block analytics and advertising cookies with any standard content blocker or your browser privacy settings. Neither affects your order, your delivery, or your hardware.

6. Your Data, Your Control

Under various global privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to access, move, or delete the personal information we hold related to your store account. Since our hardware operates locally, there is no “usage data” for you to request, it’s already entirely in your possession.
